The timing belt failed while doing 95mph or so (downhill!) on a trip back to El Paso from Austin... should have changed the belt earlier (and ditched the lead foot). I just happened to have my camera in the car (along with all my stuff from the dorm) and took these pictures:
Leaving Austin under own power...
...getting infinite gas mileage
(being towed the remaining ~500 miles to El Paso behind my brother's
1991 Plymouth Voyager SE)
It was kind of nice, actually - without the deafening roar of the 3 cylinder, I could finally hear my music at a reasonable volume. And the Voyager's Mitsubishi 3.0 V6 had enough juice to actually TOW the Daihatsu at a higher average speed than normally possible under "self power", so we got home FASTER :)
